JOB TITLE: PE/Health Teacher
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
The need for teachers will depend on enrollment of students and counts wont be final until Mid-May.- 2 Positions Available.

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
- Under the direct supervision of the School Principal, the Physical Education teacher is responsible for classroom instruction in the areas of health and physical education.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain records as required by NLCS policy and state guidelines; maintain professional ethics.
- Establish and maintain cooperative professional relationships.
- Model-appropriate dress.
- Administer the classroom and its program of organization and management. Discipline and control should be maintained at all times with those whom the teacher is charged with supervising.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the subject matter.
- Expand the physical education initiative at the middle school level especially reaching out to underrepresented groups
- Possibly teach other assigned subjects; Exploratory Elective class
- Give positive reinforcement to acceptable academic and social behavior.
- Consistently confront undesirable behavior with firmness and fairness and a thoroughly professional demeanor.
- Lead students to consider healthy life choices and in physical activities
- Attend NLCS and faculty meetings (seminars, conferences, workshops, and so forth) as scheduled in the corporation/school calendar.
- Conducts other duties related to the teacher’s duties as assigned by the principal or local superintendent.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Appropriate Indiana teaching certification
- Establish and maintain use of Google platform
- Excellent oral & written communication skills. Demonstrates a sincere desire to aid all students.
- Knowledge of instructional design & highly interactive or innovative instructional methods, instructional best practices, and knowledge of Indiana academic standards.
- Evidence of teacher-leadership experience. The advanced ability to set and meet goals and priorities, and work with colleagues to implement and drive results-oriented systems.
