Job Title: Computer Aide
Reports To: Building Principal
Position Summary:
Paraprofessionals who are properly trained play a vital role in enhancing student achievement. The Computer Aide supports student learning by facilitating the development of grade-level computer skills and assisting staff with basic technology troubleshooting. This position reinforces and enhances the teacher’s efforts in the classroom.
Primary Responsibilities:
Lead individual students, small groups, or full classes through a structured computer curriculum.Plan and deliver engaging lessons that help students develop foundational and advanced computer skills.
Foster student confidence and independence in using technology.
Monitor and manage classroom behavior and dynamics.
Track student progress and communicate skill development effectively.
Collaborate with building administrators, classroom teachers, and district E-Coaches to support student technology needs.
Support and adhere to all NLCS and school-specific policies and regulations.
Maintain high standards of professional ethics and confidentiality, equivalent to that of certified teaching staff.
Continue professional development, especially in Google Workspace (formerly G Suite).
Encourage and guide students in collaborative work and promote positive self-esteem.
Utilize a variety of resources to support students in reaching their individual technology goals.
Qualifications:
Education: Minimum of 2 years of college coursework preferred or successful completion of the ParaProfessional Test.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, etc.)
Experienced in managing and creating content in Google Classroom
Capable of troubleshooting basic hardware and software issues
Additional Requirements:
Valid Driver’s License
Must pass a background check
