JOB TITLE: Custodian
REPORTS TO: Director of Facilities
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
To provide students with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient place in which to learn, play, and develop.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Building
Further, under general supervision, the custodian is responsible for maintaining the areas allocated to him/her, including classrooms and other areas, to the prescribed standard of cleanliness according to identified procedures. His/Her removes hazards and dangerous conditions, which could result in accidents and fire and prevent needless waste or careless use of supplies, equipment, or other utilities.

To provide students with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient place in which to learn, play, and develop.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED
Essential Functions
Performs daily and scheduled housekeeping duties as required.
Assists organizations using school facilities.
Makes minor repairs to equipment as required.
Conducts other duties including or as needed/required:
Snow removal
Grass cutting
Cleaning of glass windows, doors, and display areas (inside/out)
Replace light bulbs as required
Cleaning of toilets, sinks, urinals and water fountains
General dusting
Vacuuming and carpet cleaning
Floor cleaning such as sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and buffing
Replacement of ceiling titles
Assisting in the delivery of supplies and unloading of delivers
Assist in light construction
Assist maintenance employees
Handles related duties as required
Keeps building and premises, including sidewalks, driveways, and play areas neat and clean at all times.
Regulates hear, ventilation, and are conditioning systems to provide temperatures appropriate to the season and to ensure economical usage of fuel, water, and electricity.
Check daily to ensure that all exit doors
Keep the grounds free from rubbish
Report immediately to the principal any damage to school property
Keeps an inventory of supplies, equipment and fuel on hand, and requisitions such needed replacement from the principal far enough in advance so that they may be delivered in such time as will not hinder the custodian in his duties
Moves furniture or equipment within the building as required for various activities and as directed by the principal
May be required to perform other duties as qualified that benefit assigned building or NLCS
