What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recycling Operator position at North Mankato, MN?
Major Job Function
1.Operate Baler: Load recycling materials into baler and bale the products.
2.Operate Forklift: Move containers with recycling materials and bales throughout the facility.
3.Maintenance of Facility and Equipment: Ensure the facility is maintained in a clean and safe condition. Inform the Public Works Director of any needed repairs or unresolved operational issues.
4.Comply with Safety Regulations: Ensure the safe operation of the facility by following safety protocol. Ensuring the safety of all residents as they drop off recycling materials.
5.Provide Courteous and Responsive Public Service to Citizens: Answer questions and explain the operational requirements of the Center to the public as necessary.
6.Reporting and Documentation: Complete and submit all documentation needed for the operation of the Center. Receipt and record monetary transactions from citizens recycling electronics, light bulbs and appliances. Submit money and checks to finance department.
7.Other Duties as Assigned.
Minimum Requirements for Position
High School diploma and MN driver’s license. Ability to operate a forklift. We will train and certify. Mechanical aptitude.
Supplemental Information
Position works up to 24 hours per week and every other weekend.
This position is responsible for bundling recyclable materials for shipping under the supervision of the Recycling Lead Operator.
