What are the responsibilities and job description for the MS Track Coach position at North Marion School District 15?
Description:
This job is responsible for the development of a middle school track program. The applicant should be knowledgeable about the sport of track and the developmental needs of students in the middle level. A successful applicant will know how to coach the various components of track in one or more of the areas of running, throwing or jumping as well as be able to cooperate with other coaches and capitalize on collegial strengths to divide duties.
Qualifications:
- Previous cross country coaching experience preferred
- Knowledge, experience and ability to effectively perform the duties of a coach
- Ability to satisfactorily perform all physical requirements of assigned tasks with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to communicate effectively with parents, administration, players and staff
- Ability to work with community youth programs
- Hold or ability to acquire a First Aid/CPR card
- Hold or ability to acquire OSAA/NFHS, concussion, and steroid training
- Must complete all online safety trainings required by District
- Passage of a fingerprint-based criminal history verification required upon offer of employment
Terms of Employment:
Seasonal in the spring months of March to May and includes a daily schedule of five days per week for eight weeks. Practices are 1.75 hours in length and track meets vary in length, but may be three to four hours and vary depending on home or away status.
