About this position
The Exchange Aide is responsible for performing all duties related to counting, picking and distribution of requested supplies, instruments and equipment to the surgical suite. The Exchange Room Aide receives direction from the SPD management and the surgical team to meet the goals of the customer, shift, department and organization. Oversees the exchange room items (sutures, instrumentation, equipment) ensuring accuracy in case cart completion. Provides quick response to requests for items to the OR suite and maintains par-level stock in OR suites. Performs, monitors and logs Immediate-use Steam Sterilization (IUSS).
Requirements
Education
- High School graduate or equivalent (GED) required.
Experience
- Medical terminology experience preferred.
- Knowledge of and skilled in computer software applications.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize
