Due to the upcoming retirement of the current Business Manager, North Middlesex Regional School District is accepting applications for a vacancy effective July 1, 2025.Position Purpose:
The purpose of this position is to manage the financial aspects of the operation of the regional school district which includes assistance with the management of the budget, operation of business functions, and capital planning. Work requires initiative and independent judgment in the application of prescribed policies, procedures, and methods. Performs all other related work as required. Essential
Functions:

Oversees the management of financial affairs of the district including all financial expenditures and appropriations.
Assists the Superintendent with the development of the NMRSD budget.
Serves as the Chief Procurement Officer and as part of the budget authorization process. Oversees expenditures of district funds. Coordinates and directs bidding, purchasing, and inventory control. Monitors the budget and all school funds and provides projections on budget status.
Manages and reports on the district capital planning process. Attends construction meetings and subcommittee meetings for ongoing capital projects.
Supervises the warrant process and prepares periodic reports to the school committee as requested.
Manages the independent, professional audit process. Arranges for the internal and external auditing of Student Activity Accounts.
Responsible for the management and bidding of the district’s Pupil Transportation Contracts.
Oversees maintenance of necessary records including contracts, financial accounts, budgets, audits, purchasing; federal, state, and local reports.
Responsible for the management and bidding of the district’s Food Service Management Contract.
Supervises and evaluates the activities of personnel in the Business Office including accounts payable, payroll and accounting.
Participates and provides reporting as needed to the collective bargaining negotiation process.
Responsible for the end of year reporting for district Excess and Deficiency certification process.
Responsible for the DESE end of year report submission and other reporting as needed.
Attends School Committee meetings and the meetings of the budget and finance subcommittee meetings and other subcommittees as needed.
Performs similar or related work as required, directed or as situation dictates.
