Job Description
The Sonographer - Echo Cardiac Ultrasound at North Mississippi Health Services plays a crucial role in echocardiography.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct educational and in-service training for new personnel
- Perform various echocardiography procedures, including M-mode, 2D, spectral and color flow Doppler, stress echocardiography, and transesophageal echocardiography
- Ensure proper charting, filing, and charging of all echocardiography procedures performed
- Maintain inventory of supplies needed for procedures
- Participate in hospital and departmental Performance Improvement activities
Requirements:
- Associate's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Registration as a cardiac sonographer with ARDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonography) or CCI (Cardiovascular Credentialing International)
- 1-3 years of work experience in a related field, with on-the-job training available
- Knowledge of cardiac anatomy, disease processes, and the effects of these processes on cardiac structures and blood flow
SCOPE OF WORK
This role requires independence and ability to work without supervision when on location. The incumbent is also responsible for filling-in for others within the Cardiology Department as needed or directed by the Supervisor.
