We are committed to delivering high-quality care at North Mississippi Health Services, and we are looking for a dedicated Medical Technologist to join our team as a Medical Technologist Lead.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the workflow of phlebotomists in the Specimen Processing area, serving as Charge Medical Technologist (MT) in the absence of the supervisor or Lead MT, and ensuring accurate and efficient transportation of lab-related supplies, equipment, and specimens.
Key responsibilities include following all laws and regulations in the processing and transportation of laboratory specimens, following regulatory guidelines in handling/processing of laboratory specimens, and following proper policy for accurate patient identification and labeling of all specimens.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinates work flow of phlebotomists in Specimen Processing area.
- Assures accurate and efficient transportation of lab-related supplies, equipment, and specimens.
- Follows regulatory guidelines in handling/processing of laboratory specimens.
- Follows proper policy for accurate patient identification and labeling of all specimens.
- Ensures effective communication with all NMHS staff, patients, their family members, and customers.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Biological Science, or related field.
- ASCP - American Society of Clinical Pathologist certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist, required within 12 months after incumbent's graduation from an accredited Medical Technology Program.
- Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record/history.
