About the Position:
The Medical Laboratory Technician Associate will be responsible for performing various tasks related to laboratory specimen processing, including transportation and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of laboratory results and specimen processing
- Ensure timely and efficient transportation of lab-related supplies, equipment, and specimens
- Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals and other stakeholders
- Participate in Performance Improvement initiatives to enhance departmental efficiency and effectiveness
Requirements:
- Associate of Arts degree as a Medical Laboratory Technician from a CAHEA/NAACLS accredited program; required
- ASCP Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician, preferred within 12 months after incumbent's graduation form an accredited Medical Laboratory Technician Program
- 10 years of experience in a clinic or hospital laboratory in lieu of certification
- Valid Mississippi Driver's License and acceptable driving record/history; preferred
- Good organizational and communication (written and verbal) skills; required
- Knowledge of and appropriate handling of biohazardous specimens; required
