**JOB SUMMARY** The Auditor at North Mississippi Health Services is primarily responsible for conducting or assisting in audit reviews and examinations of financial and operational activities of NMHS. They report on the reliability of all operating and financial control systems, make recommendations for improvement, and work with the Director to prepare audit programs, perform audits, and prepare comprehensive written audit reports. **JOB** **FUNCTIONS** Audit: * The incumbent's primary task is to conduct or assist in the timely and accurate completion of audit reviews and examinations of financial and operational activities of NMHS. * The incumbent is charged with reporting on the reliability of all operating and financial control systems and making recommendations for improvement where applicable. * The incumbent will work with the Director to prepare audit programs, perform audits to provide a basis for measuring compliance with internal control policies and procedures, and prepare comprehensive written audit reports detailing weaknesses noted and recommendations for improvement, and will follow-up to determine adequacy of corrective actions. Compliance: * Assist Director in reviewing compliance issues and perform compliance audits as needed to ensure NMHS is compliant with applicable laws and regulations. Coordinate: * The incumbent works closely with NMHS's independent auditors to expedite the completion of the annual audit. * The incumbent works with other parties such as Medicare auditors and Mississippi Sales Tax auditors to ensure they receive the information needed for their review.
