* Plans, directs, coordinates, evaluates, and documents Facility Operations/Security/Safety/Emergency Management activities in accordance with hospital policies/procedures and criterion establishes by various legal and regulatory accrediting bodies. * Manages/Oversees that responsibilities of the Facility Operations/Security Departments are performed in an accurate, timely, cost effective, professional, and confidential manner. * Supervises and coordinates the work of Facility Operations personnel in the delivery of basic general repair, replacement, preventive maintenance, landscaping, and engineering services performed throughout the physical plant. * Promotes and enforces maintaining a safe and orderly hospital environment to ensure compliance with safety/risk management standards and regulatory requirements including building codes, CMS, NFPA, OSHA, EPA and state licensing organizations. * Fulfills responsibilities of department personnel as deemed necessary. * Supervises and coordinates the work of Security personnel whose primary responsibilities are to frequently police hospital grounds to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, bodily injury, and illegal entry. * Promotes and enforces departmental compliance with general safety and infection control standards. * Recruits, orients, trains, counsels, and schedules personnel. * Prepares and monitors departmental goals, budget, and performance improvement activities. * Performs other duties as assigned while demonstrating willingness, ability, and team spirit to provide optimal customer satisfaction. * Assists with orientation/Inservice and attends, demonstrates, and participates in required in services, performance improvement activities (including EXCEL), and other educational programs. Job Knowledge: * Associates degree in related field; required. * Advanced formal training in fields relating to engineering, construction, horticulture, landscape sciences, and/or physical plant management beyond the minimum requirement preferred. * 5 or more years’ experience or formal training in basic electrical circuits, plumbing, carpentry, or, construction. * Previous experience in Facility Operations management and/or supervision; preferred. * Must be 21-years of age, possess a valid driver’s license, and a safe driving record in order to drive a hospital vehicle (other than a hospital ambulance) Strong interpersonal skills; required
