Custodian Supervisor
The North Mississippi State Hospital is searching for a Custodian Supervisor for the Tupelo, Mississippi location in Lee County. This is a Full-Time Contract Custodian Supervisor Position. The Custodian Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the work of the housekeeping team, inspects building area to ensure work has been done properly, trains and instructs housekeepers and janitorial staff. The incumbent will support the mission of NMSH to provide the highest quality acute psychiatric care for Northeast Mississippi adults in the process of recovery.
Essential Functions:
This is supervisory skilled custodial and janitorial work overseeing tasks performed in a state institution. Incumbent is responsible managing housekeepers and janitorial staff in cleaning buildings and/or domicile areas and maintaining linen supply. The custodian supervisor works under the general supervision of the Director of Procurement overseeing the operation of housekeepers.
- Works independently in planning and assigning cleaning and maintenance work.
- Anticipates staffing and cleaning needs.
- Maintains an inventory of supplies and tools and is responsible for ordering resupply needs.
- Trains and instructs housekeepers/janitors in cleaning methods.
- Removes trash and debris from assigned areas.
- Salary: $15.00 per hour.
Experience/Education Requirements:
Education:
Graduation from a standard four-year high school or equivalent (GED or High School Equivalency Diploma.
Experience:
Three (3) - four (4) years of related experience, six (6) months of which must be experience related to custodial, housekeeping and/or janitorial.
