Are you seeking a full-time EVS position with a team that puts Hospitality first? If so, you will love joining the team of rock stars at North Oaks, a premier retirement community in Pikesville, Maryland! The Floor Technician is responsible for floor care and some trash removal. May also be responsible for set-ups and moving furniture.
Shift and Schedule : full-time non-exempt position, which may include overtime on an as needed basis. 7am-3 : 30pm with weekend and holiday rotation.
Essential Duties :
Pick up and remove major trash from the Community.
Maintain cleanliness of trash bins and trash rooms.
Operate designated floor equipment to include auto-scrubbers, burnishers, buffers, carpet extractors to strip, scrub, and shampoo and wax floors, all surface cleaners, or other large mechanical machines daily or as needed.
Uses the proper procedures on carpet and upholstering (shampooing, damp surfaces, extractions, spot cleaning, vacuuming, etc.)
Performs maintenance and restorative processes for all floor surface types.
Clean, sweep, vacuum, and polish floors.
Use various tools, equipment, and cleaning materials to include, but not limited to hand power scrubbing and polishing equipment, small and large vacuum cleaners, large commercial type buffer, broom, dust brush, dust pan, wet and dry mop, bucket mop wringer, special cleaning solution, and chemical cleaners
Clean common areas as assigned.
Clean identified or assigned areas / spaces with required cleaners and disinfecting solutions
Move furniture as assigned.
Assist with resident wheelchair cleaning and disinfecting.
Set up and break down for functions daily.
Promptly reports all maintenance problems and concerns.
Keep equipment, carts and work areas clean, reporting any problems.
Other Duties :
Maintain all equipment and supplies in proper condition.
Attend in-service training and education sessions as assigned.
Perform specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
Interacts with others in a courteous and professional manner at all times.
Observes all safety rules, infection control, and regulations.
HIPAA Compliance – follows written policies and procedures to ensure confidentiality of protected health information.
OIG Compliance – follows written policies and procedures to comply with the federal and state laws and regulations.
Qualifications :
Able to operate floor care equipment, such as buffers, burnishers, “wet vac” and auto scrubbers
Floor care experience; specifically stripping and waxing, and shampooing carpets.
Ability to understand and follow instructions in English and communicate effectively.
Ability to read and write such as to be able to read labels on cleaning and detergent materials, disinfecting solutions
Compliance with North Oaks Immunization requirements.
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions : Moderate to heavy physical effort 95% of the workday. Ability to stand, walk or otherwise move about the facility on a continuous basis. Must be able to stoop and work from a kneeling position, perform repetitive bending, reaching and stretching. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. independently. Must be able to push and / or pull wheeled carts and equipment weighing up to 100 lbs. over tiled and carpeted surfaces over long distances. Must be able to operate a vacuum and equipment, work in confined spaces around furniture and breakable objects, and have constant contact with residents. May be exposed to communicable diseases including influenza, HIV and Hepatitis. May be exposed to unpleasant odors, high heat levels, and institutional cleaning chemicals.
