Summary:
Prepare daily deposits and process payments to patient accounts efficiently and effectively.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Post payments within the required timeframe accurately into each patient account

Analyze EOBs and post electronic/manual payments
-
Identify payers with payment posting issues and accurately correct payment posting errors
-
Record batch totals and balance, ensuring all payments are posted by month-end
-
Monitor and assist with reviewing credits on patient accounts, ensuring proper payment applications

Handle payment and write-offs according to policies and procedures
-
Document all payment-related activities and communications thoroughly and accurately
-
Collaborate with finance/accounting teammates for special projects
-
Assist in monthly closing

Other projects as assigned
Key Competencies

Experience with revenue cycle management with payment posting

Experience working with all commercial and government payor portals

Qualifications
Qualifications:
-
Education: High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Experience in healthcare, finance, billing preferred.

Skills: Proficiency in EHR systems, excellent communication skills, strong organizational skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, cultural sensitivity.

Language: Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
Physical Demands:
-
Professional office setting. Using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Largely sedentary role, however some filing is required. Must have the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary.
Work Environment:

Fast-paced community health center setting, potential exposure to infectious diseases, interaction with diverse patient population.
