Job Title: HR Specialist (Benefits, Compliance, and Payroll)
Department: Human Resources
Reports To: HR Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Summary:
The HR Specialist provides administrative support and coordination for the HR department, with a primary focus on benefits administration, compliance training, leave management, safety programs, and payroll support. This role ensures efficient and accurate HR processes and contributes to a positive employee experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Benefits Administration
- Coordinate employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other benefits offerings.
- Assist employees with benefits enrollment, changes, and inquiries.
- Maintain benefits records and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
Compliance and Leave Management
- Support compliance training programs, including HIPAA, OSHA, and other required training.
- Assist with leave management processes, including FMLA, ADA, and other leave programs.
- Maintain leave records and ensure compliance with applicable laws.
Safety Programs
- Provide administrative support for safety programs, including coordinating training, maintaining records, and promoting a safe work environment.
- Assist with incident investigations and reporting.
Payroll Support
- Provide support for payroll processing, including benefits deductions, tax form processing, and time and attendance tracking.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll and benefits matters.
- Assist with payroll reporting and analysis as needed.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Education: Associate's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in an HR support role. Preference given to candidates with previous experience in benefits administration, compliance training, and payroll processing. Experience in administrative, payroll, or accounting roles will be considered as equivalent to HR experience.
Skills:
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) . Knowledge of Paycom System preferred.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Physical Demands: Primarily sedentary work with occasional lifting and carrying of files and documents.
Work Environment: Professional office environment with frequent interaction with staff at all levels.
