Position Summary: The Blueprint Family Support Specialist will engage directly with youth participating in the Blueprint for Change Juvenile 2nd Chance Program, focusing on mentoring, providing case management, and fostering positive life changes. This role is critical in reducing recidivism and promoting community safety through personalized intervention strategies.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct initial assessments and regular follow-ups with program participants to identify needs and set goals.
  • Develop and implement individualized service plans in collaboration with program partners and stakeholders.
  • Provide ongoing mentorship and support to youth, emphasizing skill development, educational success, and positive behavior changes.
  • Coordinate with local agencies and community organizations to access necessary resources for participants.
  • Facilitate workshops and training sessions aimed at promoting substance-free living, conflict resolution, and personal development.
  • Monitor and report on participant progress, adjusting strategies as necessary to maximize effectiveness.


Experience & Education:

  • One to three years of work experience or equivalent education in Family Services, Youth Development, Social Work, Public Administration, or a related field.


Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in directly supporting families, with expertise in crisis intervention and understanding family dynamics.
  • Deep knowledge of local community resources, case management principles, behavioral health interventions, and the juvenile justice system.
  • An understanding of the challenges faced by young people and their families, and a commitment to applying best practices in family support.
  • Exceptional documentation and communication skills, capable of effectively advocating for the organization and its clients in various forums.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of fostering strong relationships with youth, families, and community partners, especially in sensitive situations.
  • Demonstrated professionalism when dealing with confidential information and commitment to the mission and values of NOCP, with a passion for making a significant positive impact in the lives of young people.
  • Must have at least a high school diploma (or equivalent) and be at least 21 years of age.
  • A background check will be required, verifying the applicant's ability to work with minors and families.


Job Type: Fulltime 

Compensation: $44,000 

Working Conditions:

  • Office-based role with primary working hours during 8:00AM to 5:00PM Monday to Friday. Some evening and weekends will be required.
  • Routine physical demands include lifting up to 25 pounds, operating office equipment, sitting, standing, walking, and typing. 

Certifications/Licenses: valid driver’s license  and reliable transportation
