Duties And Responsibilities
General Office Support
- Welcome and serve visitors who walk into the seminary
- Manage the seminary admissions in-bound phone calls, responding, referring, providing counsel (screening inquires) and answers as appropriate.
- Manage the seminary inbox, responding and referring as appropriate
- Assemble and organize recruitment and promotional materials for Seminary Admission Staff, faculty or others who recruiting on behalf of the seminary
- In consultation with Director of Graduate & International Admissions and other key stakeholders, develop and implement annual recruitment plan and goals to convert prospects to applicants, and applicants to deposited students
- Establish, build, and maintain relationships with all prospective students, providing them with accurate information through campus visits, phone conversations, and email
- Assist prospective students in applying for appropriate financial aid awards.
- Participate in admissions open houses and other on-campus recruitment events. In collaboration with Graduate & International Admissions as appropriate.
- Enter comments/information regarding contact with prospective student and student visits in TargetX in a timely fashion (normally immediately, or within 24 hours of contact, including when traveling)
- Become conversant with all NPTS programs, and knowledgeable about seminary financial aid policy and able to discuss with prospective students
- Develop relationships with current students, alumni, pastors, and other influencers for promotion and recruitment
- Work with Director of Graduate & International Admissions and other admission staff to develop and implement specialty recruitment projects (may include campus events, Chicago area events and partnerships, ECC events and partnerships)
- Travel as assigned to represent NPTS at recruitment events throughout the year
- Attend seminary staff meetings and participate in training/development programs
Requirements
- Personal commitment to, and ability to effectively articulate North Park's mission and philosophy of Christian higher education, particularly through the seminary.
- Bachelor's degree required, seminary degree preferred.
- 2-3 years professional work experience, preferably in non-profit, higher education admissions and recruitment, or sales
- An ability to communicate clearly, warmly and accurately (in both oral and written forms) with prospective students, administrators, faculty, staff members, and outside constituencies
- Sensitivity to the needs of a diverse population of adults discerning their call to ministry
- Ability to handle confidential material with the utmost of integrity
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends as assigned and to travel to represent NPTS at recruitment events.
- Intermediate personal computer skills, including electronic mail, routine database activity, and Microsoft Office programs (i.e. an aptitude sufficient to maintain records and schedule tasks)
