Office of Student Activities Mission Statement
The Office of Student Activities provides undergraduate students with opportunities for campus involvement that develop leadership skills and values through the lens of faith, intercultural dialogues, and social justice.
The Student Activities Intern will work approximately 37.5 hours per week within the Division of Student Engagement, supporting both the Office of Intercultural Student Affairs and the Office of Student Activities. This role plays a vital part in advancing strategic initiatives for the 2025–2026 academic year. The intern will contribute to student engagement and intercultural programming that enhances the overall student experience, promoting self-direction, collaboration, leadership development, and a strong sense of belonging within North Park’s beloved community. A key focus will be on initiatives that support positive cultural identity formation. The intern will work closely with and report directly to the Director of Intercultural Student Affairs
Administrative Duties and Responsibilities
· Collaborate in the planning and execution of major department programs, including the Voyage Student Involvement Fair, Homecoming, the Threshold Orientation programs hosted by the Office of Student Activities and the Office of Intercultural Student Affairs and other department initiatives.
· Serve as a support staff during Launch Days Welcome events, providing assistance to new students, families and guests.
· Plan local area events in the City of Chicago for North Park University students that expose them to the arts, concerts, culture, entertainment, sporting events, and educational offerings.
· Develop facilitation guides and training materials for student leadership groups, including NPU Student Government, the Voyage Activities Board, and registered student organizations.
· Create assessment tools to evaluate event participation and learning outcomes in alignment with the Division of Student Engagement’s strategic goals.
· Collaborate with professional staff to design marketing communications targeted toward NPU students.
· Assist in strategically planning the 2025–2026 events and programming calendar.
· Design and support co-curricular education initiatives centered on culture, identity, and diversity to promote student success and belonging.
· Plan and coordinate heritage month celebrations, guest lecture events, and intercultural programming both on campus and throughout Chicago.
· Communicate with all North Park staff and faculty whose services are needed, including but not limited to,
the offices of Residence Life, Alumni Relations, Physical Plant, Media Services and North Park Dining.
· Other duties as assigned by Director of Intercultural Student Affairs, Office of Student Activities staff, and the Division of Student Engagement staff.

Requirements and Qualifications
- An appreciation for North Park’s core distinctives of: Christian, Intercultural, and City-centered.
- Internship availability: June 9th, 2025 - August 8th, 2025.
- Current enrollment in a graduate program, preferably pursuing a Master’s degree program in Higher Education Administration, College Student Personnel, Psychology, Social Justice or a related field.
- Demonstrate understanding of the foundational purpose of student development theory and cultural programming.
- Experience and enthusiasm for student activities, programming, leadership development, social media, and marketing.
- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- This is a fully in-person position based at North Park University in Chicago, Illinois.
- Full availability for the entire duration of the internship is required. Special scheduling considerations may be discussed during the interview process.
- Employment is contingent upon a successful completion of a background check.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
