JOB DESCRIPTION
Position - Student Pastor
Reports to - Executive Pastor
PURPOSE
The Student Pastor will build a strong ministry for middle and high school students to produce lifelong disciples. Through the leadership skills of collaboration, vision casting, team leadership, he will create environments for strategic growth to make more and better disciples.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Is responsible for the health and growth of student ministry, including volunteers and programming.
2. Creates and implements a plan to align student ministry with global church strategy to foster lifelong disciples.
3. Partners with parents in disciple-ing their students.
4. Participates as a key member of the pastoral team in shepherding the church.
5. Serves as one of the pastors on the preaching team, potentially preaching up to 5 times per year in a Sunday morning service.

- 2-4 years of related ministry experience
The Opportunity:
Equipper: North Students have dedicated volunteers who have been with them for a long time. They are always open to having more people join their team to help them achieve their mission. This new leader will be starting with a deep bench, but will need to continue to strengthen the team for future growth. They follow the principles in Ephesians 4, where they prepare and empower their volunteers and students to do the work of the ministry. This new leader will receive strong support from their committed adult and young adult leaders.
Disciple-Maker: As North continues to fulfill its mission to make more and better disciples, this new leader will work with senior leadership to design a ministry strategy that aligns with the overall church’s mission to create lifelong disciples. Two resources that are helping to guide this process are Intentional Churches and B.L.E.S.S. North is passionate about equipping their students to live their life for Jesus in their homes, schools, and work.
CONTINUED MOMENTUMThe new Student Pastor will have the opportunity to build upon great momentum and a group of students who are relationally connected, taking the ministry to a new level of effective disciple-making. The student ministry has a solid foundation to build on. There is still plenty of room for this new leader to bring new vision and life as they build for the future.
