Our clinic in Douglas, Wyoming, is looking for a detail-oriented medical billing clerk to join our team, supporting a physical therapy practice that’s been in business for more than 35 years. Medical billing clerks play an important role in our company and perform the following duties:
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist at the front desk and with billing claims.
- Review and manage account balances to discover outstanding debts or other inconsistencies.
- Collect all information needed to calculate bills receivable.
- Review all data input to the accounting system to ensure the accuracy of final bills.
- Issue invoices and bills and send them to patients through various channels (mail, e-mail, etc.).
- Issue patient account statements.
- Receive payments through various methods (cash, online payments, etc.).
- Manage accounts receivable.
- Answer patient questions and handle complaints regarding bills.
- Report on activity to upper management.
Qualifications:
- Proficient with computers and common office software (Microsoft Office, Google Chrome, etc.)
- Positive attitude and desire to learn new skills as needed.
- Detail-oriented, with solid skills in basic math.
- Prior experience in medical billing or accounting is preferred but not required.
- Entry-level applicants are encouraged to apply.
