We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Marine Service Manager to lead our service team and oversee all aspects of yacht maintenance, repair, and commissioning. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a customer-centric approach to ensure the highest quality of service. The Marine Service Manager will work closely with customers, vendors, and the NPYS sales team to provide seamless after-sales support and ongoing service solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the marine service department, ensuring efficiency and quality control.
- Manage and support a team of service advisors and technicians to maintain high service standards.
- Coordinate boat commissioning, maintenance, and repair services for both new and brokerage boats.
- Work closely with customers to assess service needs, provide estimates, and ensure timely completion of work.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure access to quality parts and materials.
- Implement and monitor service schedules, budgets, and workflow management to optimize efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with maritime safety regulations and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with the sales team to provide pre- and post-sale support, including boat deliveries and customer orientations.
- Manage warranty claims and coordinate with manufacturers for service-related issues.
- Maintain accurate records of service work, invoices, and customer interactions.
Qualifications & Skills
- Marine industry experience required—preferably in yacht service, boat maintenance, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of boat systems, including electrical, mechanical, and rigging components.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills to ensure a high level of client satisfaction.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with marine service software and documentation processes.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment with attention to detail.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel locally as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical certifications (ABYC, NMEA, or similar) are a plus.
- Experience in warranty service management and vendor negotiations.
- Knowledge of sailboats, powerboats, and multihulls, particularly the brands NPYS represents.
