What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Education Paraprofessional - TLC position at North Randolph Elementary School?
We are seeking a dedicated Therapeutic Learning Center Paraprofessional to support to students within our program.
Hourly rate is 26.69 for 6.75 hours per day.
As a paraprofessional, you will work closely with students who require individual and small group attention due to diverse learning needs and therapeutic goals. Staff in TLC should have experience with de-escalation strategies, small group support and behavior management. Staff should have the ability to physically assist students with mobility or other physical needs as needed.
Duties include; providing direct one-on-one or small group assistance to students with special educational needs, including behavioral, emotional, and learning disabilities. Implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) under the guidance of special education teachers and therapists. Support student engagement in classroom activities, ensuring they are able to participate to the best of their abilities. Assist in the management of classroom behavior and ensure students adhere to behavioral expectations. Collaborate effectively with teaching staff, therapists, and admin to monitor student progress and adjust support strategies as necessary. Collect & maintain accurate records of student progress and behavior. Utilize effective communication skills in both English to facilitate interactions with students. Provide emotional support and encouragement to students, promoting their self-confidence and independence.
Deescalation Training such as CPI or Safety Care preferred.
