About the Role: Accountant
In this role, you'll perform essential accounting tasks under close supervision, applying established accounting principles to analyze financial data, prepare reports, and ensure compliance with company procedures. Your ability to work independently and make thoughtful decisions will directly impact our operations, ensuring clients receive accurate, timely, and courteous service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Compile, analyze, and reconcile financial data; audit contracts and produce standard and custom reports for various departments and boards.
- Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other reports to summarize the companys financial position.
- Perform statistical analyses to identify trends, estimates, and significant changes; draft narrative reports to explain findings.
- Approve financial transactions within designated limits and ensure proper handling.
- Investigate and resolve errors or inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.
- Respond to basic information requests and refer complex matters to senior accountants or supervisors; provide guidance on financial statements and reports.
- Collaborate with internal and external contacts to complete assignments effectively.
- Prepare reconciliations and documentation for the annual financial audit.
- Assist with the budget process by preparing financial reports for teams, departments, and centers.
- Generate miscellaneous billings per grantor contracts and timelines.
- Contribute to policy and procedure development, implementation, and evaluation as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in accounting or a related field from an accredited institution, or equivalent education and experience.
Experience:
Experience in accounting and/or full charge bookkeeping, preferably in a healthcare setting is preferred.
