What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teacher-Special Education Long-Term Substitute position at North Reading Public School District?
The J.Turner Hood Elementary School is seeking a 0.5 FTE Long-Term Substitute Special Education Teacher from March 17, 2025 through May 9, 2025. North Reading Public Schools is actively looking to build a diverse workforce to ensure all students feel welcome, safe, and valued for who they are and supported to reach their potential.
This position is scheduled for 2.5 days per week. The typical Elementary school day is 8 : 00 AM-2 : 15 PM.
Essential duties
- Direct instruction of students
- Monitor student progress on an ongoing basis
- Serve as the IEP liaison for students in the classroom, and complete all associated state mandated paperwork, including progress reports and chairing annual review meetings
- Conduct three year re-evaluation testing and other testing as appropriate
- Support student inclusion opportunities through the implementation of behavior intervention plans, and appropriate engagement strategies
- Provide day to day oversight of Paraprofessional staff
- Collaborate with general education and special education teachers
- Attend faculty and department meetings as directed
- Collaborate with parents / guardians and outside providers
- Other duties as determined by the building Principal, Director of Student Services, or their Designee
