What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Education Van Driver position at North Reading School District?
North Reading Public Schools is seeking a consistent and reliable Special Education Van Driver to support getting students to and from school.
Responsibilities
- Follow a prescribed route to pick up and drop-off students to and from school
- Interact with parents/guardians
- Act as monitor for special education students when not driving
- Transport students during the school day for various activities such as field trips and internships as needed
General Schedule
This work schedule generally conforms to the school calendar and consists of approximately 180 days per year. Additional days may be available during the summer period as needed. During the school year, the hours are approximately 6:30 A.M. to 8:30 A.M. and 1:30 P.M. to 3:30 P.M. This is a five (5) day per week position, Monday through Friday, for up to 20 hours per week. Additional hours during the summer weeks may be available.
Requirements
- Possess a 7D driver's license required
- Excellent driving record
- Reliable
- Strong communication skills
- At least two (2) years of relevant experience preferred
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required
