JOB SUMMARY
The Individual Benefits Account Manager is responsible for serving as the main point of contact on individual benefits clients accounts, supporting the sales team by providing quality service to our clients. The Individual Benefits Account Manager position requires excellent communication skills, a passion for delivering exceptional service, and great attention to detail when handling accounts.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyze and develop Medicare insurance solutions for prospective and current clients based on their needs.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients through advising and responding to all correspondence in a quick and accurate manner.
- Process day-to-day service requests associated with individual benefits accounts.
- Process individual life applications and follow up as necessary on enrollments.
- Educate and enroll clients on the most suitable Medicare plans available in the market, while being available to work with other advisors and their clients during Medicare’s annual enrollment.
- Evaluate and process client requests to ensure appropriate coverage is met.
- Verify accuracy of premium quotes and all plan cost information shared with our consumers.
- Mentor new team members.
- Answer questions regarding coverage options, and assist clients with plan and/or carrier changes, claims, and billing.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal clients, peers, and leaders, regulators, partner insurance carriers, and field marketing organizations.
- Enter activity and other relevant information into the company’s software system(s) in accordance with company procedures.
- Follow all federal and state regulations, and best practices regarding compliance and errors and omissions.
- Continue professional development; pursue and maintain professional designations if applicable.
Requirements
Education, Experience, and Certifications
- A combination of education and experience generally attained through a high school degree, bachelor’s degree, and a minimum of 3 years in individual benefits service
- Active life & health insurance license
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills, demonstrating ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Self-starter who takes initiative to identify problems and lead by example
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office suite

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Perform under normal office conditions; may include lifting/carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds
- Twist, bend, stoop, kneel, squat, stand, walk, and reach frequently
- Hear, speak, and effectively verbally communicate in the English language, including following oral and written instructions to communicate with people inside and outside of the organization
- Sit and a desk for extended periods of time and perform long hours of work sitting at a computer
- Move around office/building/facilities repeatedly throughout the day
- Apply manual dexterity, visual acuity and ability, for computer keyboarding, office equipment uses, review of detailed reports, information, fine print, and warning labels
- Must possess valid driver’s license and be able to travel to different North Risk Partners locations for meetings, as well as various locations throughout the state and potentially the region for client meetings
- Able to work a flexible work schedule, including overtime and potential evenings/weekends for events and meetings as needed
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED
Incumbents must be able to use telephones, calculators, copy machines, computers, printers, and other office equipment
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment is primarily indoors. Exposure to a variety of weather conditions during work related travel and events held outside of the workplace will occur and I acknowledge that I have read, understood, and agree with the contents of this position description. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The estimated base salary range for this full-time position is $51,000 - $70,000 annually, plus benefits. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The hiring range represents the company’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
