JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented, driven individual who thrives in a fast-paced work environment. This internship gives the opportunity to develop skills in the areas of advertising, graphic design, brand recognition, writing, strategic communication, project management, and more - providing the individual with a strong foundation of skills that are highly valued in marketing and communication roles across industries.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITES
Content Creation
- Use North Risk's brand voice, core values, and mission to create and distribute engaging content for various audiences on North Risk's internal and external platforms
- Internal: Intranet Site (SharePoint), Teams, Viva Engage
- External: Social Media, Website, Email Marketing Software
- Develop a wide variety of content such as videos, social media graphics, press releases, sales materials, advertisements, blog posts, surveys, policy manuals, how-to guides, PowerPoints, newsletter articles, and more. Ensure brand standards are upheld in all content created.
- Edit graphics and sales materials using Adobe Creative Suite or related programs
- Build online forms, workflows, and surveys to support a streamlined approach to processes and procedures
- Support maintenance of department databases including document libraries, client information, and more
Event Support
- Support logistics for North Risk's large-scale events: bi-annual all-company or sales meeting, and carrier appreciation events
- Assist in tracking event registration (for 400 attendees)
- Contribute creative ideas to ensure brand is executed throughout the event - e.g., name tags, signage, awards, entertainment, giveaways
- Establish and strength venue and vendor relationships - e.g., coordinate A/V details, execute photographer and videographer shot lists, etc
- Serve as go-to for event questions
- Create and execute event checklists - e.g., logistics, supplies for the day of event, setting up meeting rooms
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITES:
- Perform miscellaneous projects and complete various tasks within the Communications team as requested by management
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)
- High school degree or equivalent required
- Working toward a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field
- A working knowledge of standard technology (e.g., Microsoft Office programs and popular social media sites)
- Strong data analytic skills and experience with managing data in Excel
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, basic HTML/CSS, and WordPress platforms (or a fearless determination to learn)
- Familiarity with email marketing software is helpful, but not required
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
- Strong writing and verbal communication skills
- Ability to think critically and solve problems independently

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Perform under normal office conditions; may include lifting/carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds
- Twist, bend, stoop, kneel, squat, stand, walk, and reach frequently
- Hear, speak, and effectively verbally communicate in the English language, including following oral and written instructions to communicate with people inside and outside of the organization
- Sit and a desk for extended periods of time and perform long hours of work sitting at a computer
- Move around office/building/facilities repeatedly throughout the day
- Apply manual dexterity, visual acuity and ability, for computer keyboarding, office equipment uses, review of detailed reports, information, fine print, and warning labels
- Must possess valid driver’s license and be able to travel to different North Risk Partners locations for meetings, as well as various locations throughout the state and potentially the region for client meetings
- Able to work a flexible work schedule, including overtime, nights, and weekends to attend events and meetings as needed
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED
Incumbents must be able to use telephones, calculators, copy machines, computers, printers, and other office equipment.

The work environment is primarily indoors.
