What are the responsibilities and job description for the Park Manager position at North Shore Adventure Park?
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: The Park Manager oversees all aspects of the park's operation
and is ultimately responsible for how all business is conducted in all areas of the park. The Park Manager is also responsible for promoting a positive work environment, maintaining the culture and providing all employees with the opportunity to succeed, grow and thrive.
The Park Manager ensures the entire guest experience feels safe, secure, and professional.
He or she is responsible for overseeing and/or delegating responsibility for all systems,
including but not limited to: the online reservation system, retail sales and protocols,
inventory, and accommodating groups.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Customer Service
- Ensures the safety of all guests and the performance of staff to meet all safety protocols to mitigate risk.
- Models excellent customer service and courteous interaction with guests.
- Enjoys working in a team work based environment and in a family oriented environment,
- Has excellent communication skills and ability to help staff develop and improve their
own skills.
Park Protocols
Primarily responsible for understanding all park protocols listed in the employee, operations, and ACCT manuals and for modeling, enforcing and documenting them.
- Creatively suggest and implement innovative ideas, park structures and operation to the
park.
- Follow and enhance procedures to ensure safety for all guests and employees
- Educate employees on evolving corporate policies and best practices/strategies. Act as first contact for employee improvement.
- Effectively lead the response to high-pressure situations, rescues and/or emergency
situations that may arise.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities to include providing coverage and support to
staff in all areas of operations.
Documentation / Protocols
- Assess daily risk management and its mitigation. This could include near miss reports, incident reports, and any other strategies to reduce risk throughout the park.
- Oversees and/or delegate Daily Documentation, Maintenance logs, & Course
inspections with all records uploaded daily into the park’s Google Drive folders
Park and Course Maintenance
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the park by overseeing course upkeep,
maintenance and repairs, including bathrooms.
- Oversee handling of all park projects, programs, and operational duties, including
systems operation and infrastructure maintenance;
- Manage Reservation System (Xola), training, troubleshooting, and enforcing policies
and auditing for accuracy.
Staffing
- Primarily responsible for recruiting, training and properly staffing all areas of park for full operation throughout the entire park season as well as assessing performance on a regular basis with assistance and input from Park Supervisor.
- Ensure the park is staffed safely and properly for visitor volume while staying within
staff budgets.
- Staff appropriately with the right employee skill sets to provide a safe experience.
- Ensure that all employees understand and comply with risk management protocols
and emergency response procedures.
- Follow appropriate protocol to verify employee’s ability to effectively communicate
with guests and to perform the skills to prepare guests to start their adventure and to
assist guests down from the park if necessary.
- Keep employees busy and interested by rotating functions and ensuring they get
regular breaks for food and shade.
- Maximize daily profits
- Accountable for the overall operations of the park ensuring maximum sales and
profitability.
- Monitor daily guest capacity through online reservation system to maximize
revenues while balancing adequate staffing to safely meet guest needs.
Training
- With other trainers, assists in the training of all staff (both monitors 1 and 2). Monitor
training, performance standards and park protocols for safe coverage. Fill in as needed
on all positions.
- Oversee ongoing, season-long training of staff and third party training and staff
certifications, including first aid and CPR.
PHYSICAL AND SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:
In this position you must be available to work a full time seasonal schedule with overtime and weekend hours as needed. The season for North Shore Adventure Park will run from May through October. Candidates must have full schedule availability and flexibility during this season, including weekends and holidays. Adventure Parks and offices are in a natural, outdoor, wooded environment. Candidates must be comfortable and willing to work in all seasonal, outdoor weather conditions.
Within park weight limit on course of 265 pounds.
- Able to lift and carry 50lbs preferred but not required
- CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain certification
- Rescue and climbing skills preferred, but are not required
Job Types: Full-time, Seasonal, Temporary
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 50 per week
