What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Staff Adventure Park position at North Shore Adventure Park?
Staff Members
All staff play a critical role in ensuring a safe, enjoyable, and memorable experience for all guests on the high ropes course and ziplines. As trained and certified team members, they are responsible for welcoming guests to the park, actively supervising guests, assessing their abilities, and proactively addressing potential safety concerns. By maintaining constant awareness of guest behavior and movement, staff help prevent incidents and provide hands-on assistance to those who may need support while navigating the course.
Key Responsibilities
Most staff are cross trained for at least 2 of 3 roles, depending on their preference for working on the ground or at height.
- Guest Assistance & Safety Monitoring
- Check guests in
- Observe and assess guest abilities to ensure they are navigating the course safely and confidently.
- Anticipate and proactively address potential safety concerns before they escalate.
- Assist guests who may become stuck on a zipline or course element, providing guidance or direct intervention as needed.
- Uphold all safety protocols and procedures, ensuring that guests comply with park guidelines.
- Communication & Coaching
- Provide clear instructions and encouragement to guests, helping them feel comfortable and confident at height.
- Offer coaching and problem-solving support to help guests navigate obstacles and challenges.
- Maintain a calm and reassuring demeanor, especially when assisting guests who may feel anxious or uncertain.
- Technical & Operational Support
- Conduct pre-shift equipment checks to ensure all safety gear is in proper working condition.
- Perform routine inspections of the high ropes course and zipline areas, identifying any potential hazards.
- Work collaboratively with the team to manage the flow of guests and maintain an efficient operation.
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old for ground team and 18 for air team.
- Comfortable and confident working either on the ground or at height in an aerial environment.
- Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure, especially in high-stress situations.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly regarding safety procedures and protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with guests and provide guidance.
- Willingness to coach and support guests of all ages and experience levels as they navigate the course.
- Physical ability to verbally or physically assist guests if needed, and sustain an active outdoor work environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
