Position Highlights :
Emergency Services Technician - Emergency Room
Location : Swedish Hospital - Chicago, IL
Hourly Pay Range : $17.00 - $30.00 The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.
Full time, 36 hours / week
Hours : 7 : 00pm - 7 : 30am
Rotating weekends
What you will need :
High School graduate
ED Tech experience or EMT experience preferred
Completed the first clinical semester of nursing school or a MA / CNA program preferred.
Certification in adult, child, and infant CPR techniques
General Summary :
Responsible for assisting in the provision of nursing care to patients as delegated by a Registered Nurse. Responsible for performing tasks to support unit functions.
Gives direct care as delegated by a Registered Nurse :
Transports patients to and from the Emergency Department. Assists patients in transferring between bed, cart, or wheelchair.
Cleans emergency rooms, including furniture, major equipment, and carts in accordance with Emergency Department infection control guidelines after procedures and patient discharge.
Assists in the maintenance and care of equipment, instruments, and supplies. Keeps the storeroom neat and orderly.
Stock supplies and linens in exam rooms according to designated Emergency Department routine. Empties full dirty linen containers each shift or as needed.
Participates in maintaining an environment conducive to safety, patient comfort, and privacy.
Participates in interdepartmental deliveries and procurement of supplies, equipment, and patient information.
Functions as Emergency Department secretary and performs secretary duties during the shift as the need arises.
