Position Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care to adults with complex mental health needs in a psychiatric unit at North Shore Medical Center. The RN works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to assess patients' physical and emotional needs, develop individualized care plans, and implement evidence-based interventions to promote optimal patient outcomes.
The RN works in a fast-paced psychiatric unit, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care to patients with complex mental health needs. The work environment requires strong communication, critical thinking, and prioritization skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a dynamic, unpredictable setting.

- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and emotional needs, identifying areas requiring intervention
- Develop and implement individualized care plans, incorporating evidence-based practices and patient preferences
- Administer medications, perform treatments, and provide education to patients and families as needed
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and achieve treatment goals
- Document patient progress, maintaining accurate records and communicating effectively with colleagues and families
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Florida (or eligibility for licensure)
- BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS certifications preferred
- 1 year of experience in adult psychiatry or a related field
- Strong communication, assessment, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
