Seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Middle School Postsecondary and Career Exploration Teacher to inspire and engage students in learning practical skills that will prepare them for future academic and career success. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for teaching and the ability to foster an engaging, collaborative classroom environment. This position will involve teaching a diverse group of students, with a focus on equipping them with valuable skills for their future careers in various fields.

Salary: Per the NSEA Collective Bargaining Agreement for the 2025-26 school year, excellent benefits, TRS Retirement Pension Service Credit, paid sick, personal, bereavement leave, and other benefits.

Essential Functions
- Implement engaging and relevant skills and a career-centered curriculum for middle school students that is aligned with postsecondary and career exploration standards and district objectives.
- Teach subjects related to career exploration in a variety of fields and professions.
- Provide learning opportunities through projects and simulations that integrate practical application of skills.
- Foster a classroom environment that encourages creativity, problem-solving, teamwork, and critical thinking.
- Facilitate activities and lessons that help students explore the importance of financial planning for education, career goals, and future life decisions.
- Adopt a facilitative approach to teaching, fostering student-led learning and exploration while moving beyond a traditional model of direct instruction.
- Guide students in exploring different career paths, preparing them for high school and future workforce opportunities.
- Cultivate a classroom environment that encourages students to develop a growth mindset to enhance personal and academic success.
- Collaborate with teammates, colleagues, and peers to identify student needs and ways to enhance and ensure school and student success.
- Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, industry professionals, and community members to enhance the career exploration program and ensure student success.
- Utilize technology and resources to support and enhance instruction.
- Assess student progress, provide feedback, and implement strategies to improve student performance.
- Participate in school and district events, professional development, and other activities that support student achievement and program growth.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and assessments.
- Ensure a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment for all students.
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with proper endorsement(s) - Full-time classroom instructor for at least two years and licensure to teach within the Sixth - Eighth-grade band.
