Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Patient Coordinator. As a Patient Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and administrative support to patients and practice administrator in a medical office setting. This is a part-time to full-time position.
This role requires exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills, as you will be responsible for a variety of tasks including scheduling, patient communication, financial transactions, and collaboration with both patients and the Practice Administrator.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and check-in patients, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the appointment calendar, coordinating with clinical staff and providers
- Verify patient insurance coverage
- Collect patient demographic and medical information accurately
- Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information
- Coordinate referrals to specialists as needed
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries in a professional manner
- Provide accurate information to patients regarding their appointments and general inquiries
-Collect payments for services rendered and handle financial transactions accurately
-Support the Practice Administrator in various administrative tasks
-Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth office operations
-Contribute to the development and maintenance of efficient office processes
-Manage and support of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram)
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is highly desirable
- Proficient in medical terminology, ICD-10, ICD-9, DRG coding systems, and medical billing processes
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems
