JOB TITLE

QC Representative

GENERAL DISCRIPTION

This position reports to the Director of Quality and is responsible for the inspection of value-added finished products to ensure the product meets all the customers specifications.

Primary Duties

• Inspect products to ensure that they meet company and customers quality standards.
• Ensure products meet customer expectations on company objectives.
• Reject all products and materials that fail to meet quality expectations.
• Complete nonconformance reports when product does not meet customers quality standards.
• Complete quality reports to document compliance or errors of product inspected.
• Communicate the results of inspections and put forward corrective suggestions.
• Label parts as specified by customer and/or companies quality system.
• Palletize and/or bundle finished products for shipment to customers.
• Reviews shipments for quality and accuracy; reviews accompanying documents for accuracy.
• Transports and/or loads finished products (manually and/or using forklifts and overhead cranes)
  
  

PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS

• Must be able to lift up-to 45 pounds at a time.
• Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
• Must wear safety PPE, such as hard hat, glasses, steel toe boots and gloves, when handling material.

• Ability to read and understand company or customer drawings.
• Ability to interact with people professionally, considerately, and pleasantly.
• Extensive product and industry knowledge (carbon steel plate, burning, rolling, and beveling) preferred.
• Proficient use of appropriate measuring tools.
• Good math and technical skills.

Experience

High School Diploma or GED equivalent, 2 years of related experience preferred.
