Public Affairs Website Manager

Summary: This position is full-time and on-site at Quantico. The ideal candidate will reside in the Greater DMV area. This position is responsible for managing and maintaining the command's public-facing website and internal knowledge center. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented and organized individual with strong writing and editing skills, as well as a good understanding of web design principles and accessibility standards.

NOTE: This is a content-focused role and is not a website designer or web developer position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure the command's public-facing website and internal knowledge center contain accurate and up-to-date information.
• Regularly review website pages to troubleshoot issues, identify outdated information, and fix broken links.
• Develop graphics and written content to populate the website, ensuring consistency with the MCSC brand, voice, style, and tone, and adhering to industry standards.
• Utilize the Content Management System (CMS) (e.g., Drupal 9, Wordpress, Ingeniux) to upload and publish written content, ensuring proper formatting and organization.
• Coordinate with Program Offices across the command to ensure the accuracy of information displayed on public web pages.
• Ensure the website is compliant with DoD regulations and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act (Web Accessibility Standards).

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, English, or a related field.
• 5 years of experience in website content management.
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Experience with content management systems (CMS).
• Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and web design principles.
• Knowledge of Section 508 accessibility standards.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
