The Field Quality Lead is a crucial role at North Star Seafood, LLC, where you will provide intermediate-level site Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) expertise to assigned business units. This position supports the field safety team and partners with the EHS function to implement the global EHS management system.
This role involves providing EHS-related training, supporting environmental compliance, occupational health and safety, workers' compensation, transportation safety, contractor management, and business continuity. Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is highly valued.
You will execute injury prevention programs/initiatives to motivate and influence the creation of a world-class safety culture and minimize injury risk. Additionally, you will identify, assess, and control site-level hazards, including supporting Supervisors and direct line leaders in incident investigations and detailed incident investigation reports with root cause analyses.
Your responsibilities also include managing, delivering, and tracking compliance training programs required by regulatory agencies and Sysco policy. You will identify gaps and opportunities for training compliance and delivery based on injury trends, KPIs, and risk assessments. Furthermore, you will support workers' compensation claims processes by completing OSHA determinations, identifying gaps in claims management, and promoting safe and early return to work as well as general liability, motor vehicle, and property damage claims.
You will partner and collaborate with functional leaders to influence and help manage EHS resources, projects, and business decisions. Your input will be valuable in designing standardized safety systems, policies, training, campaigns, and programs to reduce corporate and human capital risk and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws. You will also support environmental compliance and claims programs.
Education-wise, a Bachelor's degree with major coursework in EHS, risk management, safety/industrial/quality/environmental engineering or a closely related field is required. A Master's Degree with major coursework in EHS, risk management, safety/industrial/quality/environmental engineering or a closely related field is preferred.
