Position Title: VITA Appointment Scheduler
Status: Full time, Temporary – January – March up to 40 hours per week
Grant Funded Position: Yes
Reports to: VITA Director

General Summary:
The VITA appointment scheduler reports to the VITA Director. The position interacts with NTAUW staff and volunteers and clients of the VITA program.
The ideal candidate enjoys interacting with the public, can learn scheduling software and be organized and flexible.
Duties involve, but are not limited to:
· Receiving calls, checking messages, & coordinating appointments for volunteer tax preparers. Bilingual preferred.
· Organizing client appointments, scheduling and coordinating office visits according to volunteer and client availability.
· Managing volunteers - including planning weekly volunteer schedules, determining appointment eligibility & length, making phone calls, and/or sending texts, or emails to clients regarding their appointment or meeting times.
· Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Experience with scheduling or in a call center environment is helpful.
· Must pass a background check
· Commitment to excellence and to the mission of United Way
· Must be able to work independently with limited supervision
Physical Dimensions:
· Position consists of sitting for periods of time at a desk, answering the phone and working on a computer
Position Type / Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time temporary position. Days and hours of work will vary between the United Way office hours and the VITA office hours listed below. Hours and days are subject to change. This position may require evening or weekend work. The position is funded from January 3 through March 31.
United Way Office Hours: Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
VITA Office Hours
Tues 11:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.
Wed 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Thurs 11:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.
Fri 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Sat 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Compensation:
$8.00 - $10.00 per hour commensurate with experience and education

As a premiere provider of tax preparation services and customer service for low to moderate income families, The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program assists clients whose income is $64,000.00 or less in receiving the maximum tax benefits on their returns at no cost to them.
