Job Description:
As a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at North Texas Medical Center, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment while making a difference in the lives of our patients. Responsibilities:
- Provide professional nursing care within the Emergency Department, coordinating care planning with other disciplines.
- Determine priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs of patients, as well as factors influencing patient flow through the system.
- Communicate effectively with ED physicians regarding changes in patient's status, symptomatology, and results of diagnostic studies.
- Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Texas
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification within 90 days
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification within 90 days
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) Certification within the first 6 months of hire
- National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification within one year of hire
- Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) certification preferred
