JOB SUMMARY

The Grant Coordinator is responsible for identifying potential funding sources, researching grant opportunities, preparing and submitting grant proposals, keeping track of awarded grants, ensuring compliance with funding agency regulations, and monitoring the progress of funded projects. The Grant Coordinator acts as the primary point of contact for all grant-related activities at NTMC. This is a part time position working approximately 20 hours per week.

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Grant research and identification : Active seeks out potential grant opportunities, from various government agencies, private foundations and corporate donors, that align with the mission and goals of NTMC.

Proposal development : Carefully reviews requests for grant proposals and drafts compelling grant proposals, including needs assessments, project descriptions, budgets, timelines, and evaluation plans, ensuring adherence to specific proposal guidelines of each funding source.

Collaboration with program staff : Works closely with program managers and staff to gather necessary data, program details, and impact metrics for grant applications.

Grant submission and compliance : Creates and manages a project timeline system to ensure that grant submission deadlines are met timely.

Grant management : Tracks the progress of awarded grants to maintain compliance with funding agency guidelines. Ensures that a system is in place to effectively monitor grant budget, reporting requirements, metrics and deliverables.

Reporting and evaluation : Prepares periodic reports both to grant funding sources and to NTMC Administration detailing funded project activities, progress, outcomes and impact. Utilizes data analysis to demonstrate program effectiveness.

Relationship building : Maintains positive relationships with community contacts, active grant funders, and potential grant sources through regular communication.

Staying informed : Maintains ongoing knowledge of current grant funding trends, regulations, and best practices in grant writing and procurement.

BASIC SKILLS

  • Attention to detail and a keen ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Proficiency in either Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel OR Google Docs, Slides and Sheets
  • Knowledge of computers and general office equipment
  • Excellent typing speed with accuracy
  • Excellent technical and professional writing and communication skills
  • Strong research and analytical abilities
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills to manage complex grant requirements and reporting.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and report creation
  • Understanding of budgeting and financial management principles
  • Experience in non-profit sector or relevant field preferred

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma required; some college preferred
  • Experience in non-profit sector or relevant field preferred
  • LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written.
  • Additional language is a plus
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to bend, stoop and reach overhead.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds
