Custodian
Section 1 – Position Summary
Performs janitorial and general maintenance duties.
Section 2 – Major Responsibilities
1. Provides janitorial services in the Administration and Operations Buildings.
2. Sweeps, mops, waxes, and polishes floors; washes walls and woodwork; dusts furniture, piping, valves, etc.
3. Washes and polishes windows and metal surfaces.
4. Empties waste cans.
5. Performs general custodial duties on grounds, including picking up litter and sweeping walks.
6. Reports any repairs or adjustments required to Custodial Crew leader.
7. Performs related duties as assigned.
8. May be required to work overtime as needed.
Section 3 – Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
1. Good physical condition; stamina; some dexterity with fingers and hands; ability and willingness to follow instructions.
2. Demonstrated reliability and honesty.
3. Knowledge of general building maintenance is a plus.
4. General mechanical duties desired.
Section 4 – Education and Experience
1. Requires a valid Texas Driver’s License.
2. Must possess a high school diploma or G.E.D.
Section 5 – Environmental Factors, Activity Levels and Equipment
Work conditions vary from indoor to outdoor activities. Outdoor activities may involve exposure to hot, cold, dusty, dirty, and/or noisy conditions. Activities may require sitting, standing, walking, bending, crawling, climbing, kneeling, balancing, pushing, pulling, carrying, dragging up to 75 pounds of equipment. Work may vary depending on task requirements.
