Summary:
The Maintenance Tech – Irrigation monitors and schedules the NTTA’s computerized system-wide irrigation system to ensure proper irrigation schedules are implemented to provide adequate irrigation for plant sustainability while minimizing and conserving vital water resources. This includes managing and maintaining multiple irrigation controllers and irrigation zones on assigned roadway. In addition, this position implements all irrigation repairs, including main line, laterals, drip lines, valves, wiring, etc., necessary to eliminate any plant mortality due to lack of irrigation.

- $2,000 Retention Bonus***
Responsibilities:
- Under Team Leader’s direction, monitors landscape and irrigation assets and ensures maintenance and repairs are accomplished utilizing accepted industry practices.
- Inspects, removes, replaces, and repairs irrigation systems and associated irrigation components. Assists with erosion repair/prevention projects and other repair/construction tasks. In the absence of Senior Maintenance Tech – Irrigation, specifies type of repair materials and calculating needed quantities for assigned projects.
- In the absence of Senior Maintenance Tech – Irrigation, completes administrative tasks by generating work orders, planning, and scheduling tasks, generating reports and cost analyses, scheduling and documenting time and labor costs, monitoring progress, and assisting with appraisal and progress reports.
- Participate in Snow and Ice Events by preparing, operating, and cleaning various pieces of equipment and vehicles. Will be required to work up to a 12-hour shift as part of the Department’s emergency operation.
Minimum:
- 6-months/1-year training or education beyond a high school diploma.
- 1– 3 years irrigation or landscape experience.
- Valid Class “B” CDL.
- Ability to obtain Tanker endorsement within 12 months of hire.
- Ability to obtain irrigation technician license within 12 months of hire.
- Tanker endorsement.
- Irrigation Technician License.
- Experience with Rainbird IQ4 systems.
