Systems Support Tech II - Roadway

Summary:

The purpose of this position is to proactively monitor the performance of Roadside Toll Collection System (RTCS) performance and provide Subject Matter Expertise (SME) throughout the identification, documentation, tracking, and closure of RTCS performance incidents and issues. Duties include the continual monitoring of RTCS performance via established system monitoring tools and applications; the identification, analysis, tracking, and closure of RTCS system defects and/or issues; intra- and interdepartmental communication; the development and management of RTCS predictive and preventive maintenance plans, and management reporting. Other duties include support throughout the development and presentation of RTCS system performance reports and the provision of SME guidance during the development of TollGuard Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and related operational documentation.

Responsibilities:

• Acts as support agent responsible for the monitoring, evaluation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and support of RTCS components and applications, including Automatic Vehicle Identification (AVI) systems, Violation Enforcement Systems (VES), inductive loops for vehicle detection and classification, lane controllers, Uninterruptable Power Supplies (UPS), Network Communication Systems (NCS), Power Distribution Units (PDU), Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems, Microwave Vehicle Detection (MVD) Systems, Wrong Way Detection (WWD) Systems, and their associated electrical and fiber optic telecommunication infrastructure.

· Acts as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and provide technical support throughout Tier-1-3 incident response procedures, including the monitoring of RTCS performance, the analysis of incident or issue root cause, and the validation of issue resolution strategies.

· Performs the duties of TollGuard support staff during periods of high incident volume or when indicated by business need or constrained staffing conditions.

· Proactively monitors RTCS operation to identify and document performance issues and active system defects and/or incidents.

· Attends team coordination and status meetings to discuss RTCS operational performance, review KPI and related performance metrics, and present opportunities for continual improvement.

Qualifications:

Minimum:

· 6 months/1 year of education or training beyond a HS diploma

· Up to 1 year of experience

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

· Ability to handle a wide variety of tasks simultaneously requiring differing skill sets.

· Ability to work night, weekend and/or early morning hours based on business needs.

Preferred:

· Valid driver's license
