Job Summary
The Director of Risk Management is responsible for the day-to-day risk management activities for the hospital, including investigating, managing, and analyzing risk management data, complying with risk management related standards of The Joint Commission, other accrediting agencies, and the Florida Department of Health and conducting risk management educational programs.
Requirements
Education:
- Minimum: Degree in Nursing, Public Health, Healthcare Administration
Preferred: Certified Risk Management Professional or master’s degree
Work Experience:
- Minimum: Five years in healthcare. Experience with incident reporting, risk management, auditing clinical practice, leading program change/transformation, training staff, knowledge of EHRs and conducting root cause analyses (RCA).
- Preferred: Risk Management experience with management duties
Responsibilities
- Coordination and investigation of serious adverse events, including potentially reportable incidents to the Florida Department of Health and/or Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA)
- * Provides documentation of all related data and facilities resolution of reported incidents.
- * Supports the hospitals’ objective of enhancing and promoting patient safety and quality of care and minimizing loss to protect the assets of the facility.
- * Participates in formulating risk reduction strategies, policy and/or organizational changes.
Skills
- Preparing and delivering presentations to all levels from the Board to front line staff
- Communicate effectively and persuasively at all levels of the agency
- Function as a leader without direct line management authority
- Learn understand, and document workflows of the organization
- Lead debriefings, root cause analyses, and other QI techniques
- Collaborate in work to support both front line staff and management and leadership teams
- Commit to the philosophy and mission of the hospital
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
