Adjunct VN Clinical Instructor - Sat/Sun

Available Schedules:

Sat/Sun: 6AM-3:30PM or 2:30PM-11PM

Every weekend for at least one term

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Accept complete responsibility for students in the clinical facility
• Teach course load as assigned, including preparation for and instruction of theory classes and clinical laboratory experience
• Plan and organize instruction in ways that maximize student learning
• Clarify daily clinical expectations with students during pre-conference
• Clarify student placement and expectations with clinical facility staff
• Plan assignments that meet both clinical objectives and patient needs
• Direct students in data collection/integration into clinical paperwork; provide resources to students to ensure critical thinking through nursing process
• Coordinate daily plan with Clinical site to observe, instruct, and evaluate students
• Evaluate student progress and give feedback weekly; provide clear objectives for improvement as needed
• Provide immediate feedback of clinical performance following observation of skills

Requirements:

• Registered or Licensed Vocational Nurse - current active license in the state of CA
• Competence in clinical skills in areas of teaching
• Competent in personal computer applications: word processing, spreadsheet, database, and email

Education:

• RN with at least a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program. A minimum of five years’ experience as a Registered Nurse, with five years’ experience in the specialty field

or

• LVN with AA or AS degree 6 years' experience required or a BA or BS with 2 years' experience required (any type of degree)

SEC is currently seeking highly qualified Registered and Licensed Vocational Nurses to teach part-time LIVE Clinical rotations. This is a fantastic opportunity to teach clinical at well-known, established hospitals and medical facilities.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $45.00 - $55.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 16 per week

Physical Setting:

• Clinic

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Night shift
• Weekends only

Experience:

• Med-Surg Nursing: 3 years (Required)

Ability to Relocate:

• Van Nuys, CA: Relocate before starting work (Required)
