Job Title: Intelligence Analyst – International Assessments (NWS 00760)

THIS POSITION IS SHORT TERM, MAX 1000 HOURS IN A CALENDAR YEAR

North Wind Services is actively seeking individuals who can contribute to national security within the science, technology, and engineering fields as part of our supplemental labor team at vital federal research and development installations supporting the Department of Energy. NWS has an established history of contributing to the success of their customer's mission. Available employment opportunities may range from administrative and logistical support to advanced technical positions.

Qualified applicants must be a US citizen, at least 18 years of age, and able to meet pre-employment requirements including any required physicals, drug screen, and/or background investigation to satisfy clearance requirements from the Department of Energy.

Successful candidates will be employees of NWS, a premier government contractor charged with employing highly motivated and well-qualified personnel who can advance the missions of the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in Livermore, CA. Though employed by NWS, the employee will take day-to-day direction from technical personnel employed directly by the research laboratories. Pay, benefits, Human Resource, and Employment Management functions are provided by NWS.

The Global Security (GS) Principal Directorate's Z Program has an opening for an experienced Intelligence Analyst to support the Counterterrorism (CT) Group within the International Assessments (IA) Program. As a member of the IA Program team, the individual will perform relevant analysis on CT-related issues, contribute to written products and briefings as requested, and serve as a subject matter expert on nuclear security. This individual should have experience working with the intelligence community, producing intelligence products that adhere to appropriate Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs). The successful candidate should have deep experience in South Asia regional issues and familiarity with Z Program's array of sponsors. The position will report to the Associate Program Leader for CT.

The successful candidate will be required to pass various on-site training modules to pursue work assignments.

Essential Duties
  • Support, and execute as needed, intelligence analyses for the CT Group.
  • Contribute to written products as requested for other CT Group projects.
  • Prepare presentations of analysis and results.
  • Provide expertise to the community (will not represent LLNS).
  • Perform all assignments in accordance with ES&H, Security, and business practice requirements and policies.
Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
  • Master's degree in a national security-related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and extensive related experience.
  • Expert level knowledge and experience within the US intelligence community.
  • Experience in all-source intelligence analysis, including experience producing all-source analytic products that meet intelligence community tradecraft requirements.
  • Experience mentoring analysts.
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communications skills, including providing feedback, and presentation skills.

Special Requirements
Pre-Placement Medical Exam: A job-related pre-placement medical examination may be required.

Clearance Level: Active Q This position requires an active Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access at time of hire. If you are denied access, you may be subject to reinvestigation of your existing Q. Applicants selected will be subject to a federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter. In addition, all Q cleared employees are subject to random drug testing.
