Responsibilities
- Prepare gages and materials for installation, define requirements for clamps and pads. Premix chemicals for application, install gages per specified temperature pressure and time for proper gage curing & assemble complex force measurement balance systems
- Connect component lead wires to solder junctions or route and connect wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals, and contact points. Perform cleaning of solder joint using necessary equipment.
- Connect complex calibration hardware. Set up station with the correct tools/ fixtures and components per assembly / process drawings.
- Use of stereo microscope to detail electronics wiring. Install inter connection bridge wiring and temperature compensation to completed force measurement devices
- Assist with static load calibration of complex force measurement systems; calibrate force measurement balances and assist with the inspection of subsystem equipment
Qualifications
Preferred Education / Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5 years of related discipline; or
- A combination of education and experience equivalent to above
Preferred Knowledge / Ability:
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings and documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Demonstrated knowledge of instrumentation application, including strain gages, soldering, PC board population and cable and harness manufacture. Ability to work under magnification to perform work tasks (camera, microscope or magnification lamps).
- Read and understand assembly drawings and work instructions.
- Handle, trim and adjust small single conductor wires without damaging outside conductor jackets using tweezers or other small hand equipment.
- Adjust or trim materials from components to achieve specified electrical requirements or dimensional characteristics.
- Must be able to utilize instrumentation (digital multimeter and power supply) equipment to check product conformity after soldering operations have been performed.
