POSITION PURPOSE :
The Payroll Specialist II / III shall be responsible for processing weekly timecards and payroll for assigned companies. Their duties include verifying employees' work hours and payment through the payroll system, issuing appropriate deductions, issuing appropriate earnings, and updating payroll records regularly.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Maintain, audit and quality check employee timecard records for compliance with established standards
- Maintain employee records, ensuring accurate setup of basic information and tax withholding
- Ensure payroll processing is in compliance with Federal and State laws and completed in a timely manner
- Oversee salary changes, bonus and vacation payouts, involuntary and voluntary deductions for employees
- Respond to payroll queries from employees in a timely manner
- Scan, file and process records

This position is a sedentary role. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be sitting for long periods of time, but will also be required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee is often required to use hands or fingers to handle, feel, type and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 15 pounds.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT :
This position is in a general office setting with low to moderate noise.
