Northampton Area Pediatrics is seeking a qualified and experienced Executive Director to lead and oversee the operations of healthcare practice.
Position Summary: The Executive Director (ED) will be responsible for the overall leadership and performance of the practice, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission, vision, and strategic goals as determined by the ownership group/senior leadership team (SLT). Reporting directly to the Managing Partner, the ED will work closely with the SLT and management team to execute the strategic, financial, and operational goals of the organization. This executive will lead the practice’s operations, strategic execution, and financial performance, while fostering the organization’s culture through building and maintaining strong relationships with staff, patients, and the community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Facilitate the development of the strategic plan with the SLT and execute the strategic plan in collaboration with the SLT and manager team.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for practice growth, expansion, and improvement, ensuring sustainability and profitability.
- Advise and direct the management team regarding improvement initiatives in clinical and operational processes to enhance patient care, operational efficiency, and staff satisfaction.
Financial Oversight:
- In collaboration with the controller, develop and manage the practice’s budget, financial forecasts, and reporting to ensure fiscal responsibility and profitability.
- Analyze financial data and make recommendations to improve revenue, align costs with needs, and maintain sustainable profitability.
- Plan administrator for the practice’s 401(k) plan.
- Oversee NAP’s related real estate entity 193 Locust Street Associates, including loan documents, building leases, etc.
Leadership & Team Development:
- Lead and mentor management team in the skills of management and leadership and in supporting the organization’s intended culture.
- Ensure appropriate allocation of resources to support practice operations.
- Act as a key resource for recruitment, retention, and talent development efforts across the practice.
Operational Management:
- Oversee big picture operations of the practice in collaboration with the manager team ensuring seamless coordination across all departments including clinical, administrative, and support services.
- Establish, maintain, and utilize/communicate effective systems for tracking financial and operational performance in alignment with strategic goals.
- Accountable for the organization achieving all accreditation needed to support strategic goals.
- Participates on the IT Steering Committee at NAP
Patient and Community Relations:
- Ensure the practice provides exceptional care and service to patients, working to enhance patient satisfaction and retention.
- Represent the practice in the community and foster relationships with key stakeholders, including other healthcare organizations, local businesses, and government and regulatory agencies.
Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure that the practice adheres to all local, state, and federal healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and patient privacy laws.
- Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring the practice maintains a high standard of care while safeguarding patient safety and organizational integrity.
- Implement and monitor policies and procedures to maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and industry standards.
- Oversee legal issues and BORM or MCAD complaints.
Collaboration with Managing Partner:
- Work closely with the SLT and Managing Partner to align key decisions, providing regular updates on practice performance, challenges, and opportunities.
- Support the Managing Partner in policymaking, SLT to manager team to staff relations, and strategic initiatives.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Education & Experience:
- Preferred: Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration (MHA), Business Administration (MBA), or a related field. A Bachelor’s degree will also be considered.
- 7-10 years of senior management experience in a healthcare setting, with a proven ability to manage large practices (10 clinicians).
- Experience in reporting to or being accountable to physician leaders.

- Expertise in practice management, financial analysis, budgeting, and operational oversight.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $125,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
