Job Details
The Clinical Nurse (RN) has the responsibility, accountability, and the authority to deliver safe, effective, quality, excellent nursing care according to the philosophy and goals / objectives of the Department of Nursing. The RN, utilizing Jean Watson's Theory of Caring, Relationship Based Care, and NorthBay's professional nursing practice model assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care for all patients assigned to his / her care. The RN makes determinations regarding the progress of the patient toward goals and utilizes a therapeutic professional relationship with the patient / family and interdisciplinary team to facilitate the promotion, maintenance, and restoration of health. Care is provided according to the specific physiologic, developmental and psychosocial needs of the patient. Supports the mission, vision, values and expectation of excellence of the organization.
Job Requirements
Provides care that is consistent with the interdisciplinary plan of care and grounded in the principles of Relationship Based Care.
Assess patient physical and psychosocial condition on an ongoing basis and formulates a nursing diagnosis.
Formulates a care plan in collaboration with the client, which ensures safety, comfort, hygiene and protection.
Performs skills essential to the kind of nursing action to be taken.
Evaluates the effectiveness of the care plan and modifies as needed.
Demonstrates a current working knowledge and safe use of equipment, instrumentation and medications.
Delegates tasks based on legal scopes of practice and supervises nursing care given by the care team.
Acts as the client's advocate by initiating action to improve health care and giving the client the opportunity to make informed decisions.
Provides culturally competent, age appropriate, ethical care within legal standards of practice.
Additional Details
Proficient written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.
Performs all physical duties of the job. Requires lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, twisting, reaching, and fine motor skills.
Utilizes effective communication skills to facilitate safe patient hand offs.
Documents nursing care per hospital policies.
Utilizes manual and automated information systems to improve efficiency and effect productivity.
Patient Satisfaction : Accountable to meet or exceed unit and organizational goals.
Contributes to positive patient care experience through individual interactions with patients and families.
Accountable to assist in the resolution of complaints with the goal of immediate resolution if possible.
Investigates physician, employee, and patient complaints and provides information to the CNIV or Clinical Manager.
